St. Patrick’s Day fun for first graders at Northwest Elementary School

There was a bit of mystery and plenty of excitement inside Ms. Komsic’s first grade classroom at Northwest Elementary School this St. Patrick’s Day, as students set out on a mission to catch a very sneaky visitor.
The culprit? Lucky the leprechaun. When students arrived, they quickly discovered that Lucky had paid an early visit, leaving behind a trail of playful chaos. The classroom was filled with signs of his mischief, sparking curiosity, laughter, and a sense of adventure among the young learners.
Determined to catch the tricky leprechaun, students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test, working hard to devise plans and strategies throughout the day. While Lucky ultimately managed to escape capture, he didn’t leave empty-handed, or empty-hearted. As a sweet surprise, the mischievous visitor left behind a treat for the class: delicious Lucky Charms cereal, much to the delight of the students.
Although Lucky got away this time, the experience was a memorable one for Ms. Komsic’s class. From imaginative thinking to hands-on fun, the activity brought learning to life and filled the classroom with smiles. At Northwest, even a little bit of leprechaun mischief can turn into a magical day of learning and laughter.
