Northwest Elementary School recently welcomed members of the Amityville Fire Department for a special visit focused on fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Students had the opportunity to learn directly from local firefighters about the important role they play in keeping the community safe. The visit gave students a chance to ask questions, learn important safety lessons and get an up-close look at the equipment and emergency vehicles firefighters use when responding to calls.

Experiences like these bring learning beyond the classroom while helping students build important real-world knowledge and strengthening the connection between our schools and the Amityville community.

The district thanks the Amityville Fire Department for spending time with our students and for their continued service to our community.
