Amityville Board of Education holds annual reorganization meeting

The Amityville Union Free School District Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on July 14 at Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School. The meeting included the swearing-in of three newly elected trustees and the election of three board officers.
The newly elected board of education members were Angel Davenport, Cheryl Quintyne-Best and Dr. Equasia Yard-Jean, each of whom will serve a three-year term through June 30, 2029. The board also welcomed Katherine Martinez-Lopez and Sarai Mullings, who were sworn in as Student Ex Officio Members for the 2026–2027 school year.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the board elected its officers for the 2026–2027 school year, selecting Chris Nehring as board president, Angel Davenport as first vice president and Cheryl Quintyne-Best as second vice president.
