Amityville Memorial High School musician performs at Carnegie Hall

On May 16, Amityville Memorial High School junior Sameer Shah proudly represented the district while performing with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York at their final concert of the season at Carnegie Hall.
The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra is an audition-based ensemble made up of some of the top young musicians across Long Island, with members rehearsing weekly throughout the season. In addition to this accomplishment, Sameer recently earned a perfect score of 100 on his All-State solo at the NYSSMA Solo Festival held May 1-2 at Lindenhurst High School.
The Amityville school community is incredibly proud of Sameer’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to his instrument over the years. The district would also like to congratulate Sameer’s family, his current orchestra teacher Ms. Bianca Ferrante, and former orchestra teacher Dr. Christine Klimek for their continued guidance, encouragement, and support throughout his musical journey.
