Park Avenue welcomes future students with smiles and school spirit

On May 19, students and staff at Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School in Amityville proudly opened their doors to the district’s incoming second graders for a special visit filled with excitement, encouragement, and warm welcomes.
The event gave students an opportunity to become familiar with their future school while learning what they can look forward to next year at Park Avenue. During the visit, students met with school counselor Kimberly Balducci, who led a presentation designed to help students feel confident and prepared for the transition ahead.
Adding a personal touch to the experience, third grade student speakers Nicholas, Harper, Oliver, and Maddison shared thoughtful advice, encouraging words, and firsthand experiences about life at Park Avenue. Their messages helped future students feel welcomed and excited about beginning this new chapter.
Following the presentation, Park Avenue’s fifth grade ambassadors guided students on a tour throughout the building, introducing them to classrooms and school spaces while answering questions and helping everyone feel comfortable and at ease. The visit was filled with smiles, curiosity, and school pride as students began building connections with their future school community.
Students and staff at Park Avenue loved hosting the visiting students and look forward to welcoming them back in September for another wonderful year of learning, growth, and success.
