Innovation in action during Edmund W. Miles’ annual STREAM Night

Edmund W. Miles Middle School in Amityville came alive with creativity, curiosity, and collaboration on March 26, as students, families, and educators gathered for the school’s annual STREAM Night.
The event, centered around Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, drew an enthusiastic crowd and showcased the power of hands-on learning. Throughout the evening, attendees explored a wide variety of interactive experiences designed to spark imagination and encourage problem-solving. From student-led exhibits and immersive escape rooms to coding activities and a collaborative art studio mural, there was something to engage every interest. A lively photo booth and a merchandise and food fair added to the festive atmosphere, making the night both educational and fun for all.
STREAM Night highlighted the importance of blending creativity with critical thinking, giving students the opportunity to apply their skills in innovative ways. It also provided a meaningful space for families and educators to come together in support of student learning and exploration.
With such a strong turnout and high level of engagement, the event was a resounding success — demonstrating the excitement and potential that comes from inspiring students to think creatively, work collaboratively, and explore the world around them.
