Edmund W. Miles’ boys basketball team completes an impressive season

The Edmund W. Miles Middle School boys basketball team in Amityville wrapped up a season they can be proud of, finishing with an impressive 9-1 record and earning the respect of everyone who watched them play.
From the opening tip of the season, this group showed what it means to play together. They competed hard every night, trusted one another, and kept their focus when games got tight. Wins came from effort on both ends of the floor, but just as important was how they handled themselves as teammates and representatives of their school.
Head Coach John Boelle deserves special recognition for guiding this team. His steady leadership, high expectations, and belief in his players helped shape not just strong athletes, but confident young men who learned how to prepare, respond to adversity, and finish what they started. Additionally, the district would like to commend co-coaches TyMel Small and Steve Butler for their contributions to this year’s team.
This season was about more than the final record. It was about growth, discipline, and pride in wearing the EWMMS jersey. The district would like to congratulate the players, coaches, and everyone who supported the team along the way. We are proud of you and excited for what comes next.
