Park Avenue’s annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration in Amityville

On Oct. 22, Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School in Amityville held its annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration.
Park Avenue’s celebration focused on the many contributions Hispanics have made to the world and this country. Students shared important elements of their home countries, and how they continue to take pride in their heritage. Crowd participation was incredible, and everyone had a lot of fun while learning new things about different Hispanic cultures.
The final performance of the day was a rendition of “La Bamba” played by the house band of Principal Mr. Edward Plaia, and teachers Mr. William Maisel, Ms. Debra Koraus and Dr. Christine Klimek.
