Amityville Memorial High School’s annual Homecoming celebration

On Oct. 18, members of the Amityville school community proudly paraded to Amityville Memorial High School during the school’s annual homecoming parade.
The parade began at the LIRR Amityville station, with marchers making their way through the local streets to the high school. Along the route, enthusiastic onlookers — including parents and supportive community members — lined Broadway through the heart of the Village of Amityville, cheering on the participants. The procession featured the high school’s marching band, cheerleaders, school administrators, board members, faculty, PTA groups, and students from various Amityville schools. Dressed in festive attire, students accompanied elaborately decorated floats that reflected this year’s theme of fairs and carnivals.
The high school’s cheerleading team held an amazing performance during halftime of Amityville’s varsity football game against the Eastport-South Manor Sharks. Afterwards, the marching band put together an incredible show as they performed a medley of “Apache” by The Sugarhill Gang, “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe, and “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars. Halftime celebrations concluded with the crowning of the homecoming king Eghosa Ojo, and queen Sage Stephens.
Amityville’s varsity football team played a hard-fought game against the Eastport-South Manor Sharks, but they lost with a final score of 45-0. The district would like to thank everyone in the Amityville school community who came out to show their support.
