Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year!

There is great excitement within the building as we continually create a positive environment that fosters academic achievement, respect for self and others, and a focus on continuous improvement. Our goal is to utilize the human connection, which is the common denominator for every one of us, to promote a renaissance within the walls of Amityville Memorial High School. Dr. Scott Andrews, the high school Principal stated, “Our students have made an extremely smooth transition back to the structure, expectations, and nurturing environment that exist within the walls of Amityville Memorial High School.”

Academic achievement as measured through Regents exam results, SAT results and Advanced Placement course enrollments continues to rise. Our professional teaching staff is dedicated to providing assessment based instruction with the human factor necessary to motivate ALL of our students as they strive for individual success. “The effort put forth by our entire faculty is exceptional. Everything they do focuses on our students and learning”, stated Assistant Principal Mr. Peter Hutchison.

Outside the wall of the classroom, our students will continue to perform at high levels as providers of community service, musicians, artists and student-athletes. Please come out and support our students as they continue to excel in all ways. Special Education Coordinator and Head Varsity Basketball coach, Mr. Jack Agostino, said, “This is the best opening to a school year in my twenty five years at Amityville Memorial High School. The building looks fantastic, the students are excited to return to school, and our teachers are primed to insure that ALL of our students are successful.”
