Fastest on Long Island

Members of the Amityville Memorial High School Boys Track team have much to be proud of after competing in the Millrose Track & Field qualifying trials. The event, which took place at the 168th Street Armory in Manhattan, attracted teams from across the state. Amityville’s team of Lyle Gaddy, Emmanuel Johnson, Hugh Bernard and Rashim Gaines (pictured with Coach Reynolds Hawkins) ran the fastest time on Long Island, the third fastest time in the State, and broke the Suffolk County 1600-meter relay record. Their effort qualified them to run in the 102nd Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden on January 30th.
