Warrior Awareness Club Volunteers at Connetquot High School

Twenty-five members of Amityville Memorial High School's WAC PAC (Warrior Awareness Club) volunteered their time on Sunday during the annual Special Olympics held at Connetquot HS. Each member of the club was paired up with a WAC PAC member and an athlete. A great day was had by all. The message below is from, Ms. Lori-Jean Farrell, the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator at Family Residences & Essential Enterprises, Inc.

"Thanks again so much to you and your students for your help and support on Sunday, May 1st at the LISO Spring Games South. Our athletes had a great time and were so proud of their achievements. A large part of their success was the time they spent with your students during the Games and the encouragement they received from them. The residential staff was thrilled with your students too. We are a large team of 70 plus athletes from an agency that serves intellectually challenged adults living in homes in the Nassau\Suffolk area. The extra special attention they received was great and much appreciated. We look forward to having your students work with our athletes again in the future."
