Percussion Ensemble Gets Creative

The Amityville Memorial High School Percussion Ensemble is the newest performing group within the Music Department. This innovative ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Brian Wishin, offers students an opportunity to refine their percussion performance and music reading skills through traditional and non-traditional percussion ensemble works. Precision and full attention to musical detail are the focus within each composition. Members of this selective group include David Spence (Section Leader), Gary Brown, Siraj Cadet, Jemal Coleman, Brandon D’Ambrosio, Rajah Goodrich, Jordan Myers, Nigel Simmons, and Brian Ward. The accompanying video clip shows the group playing a piece written for drums and garbage cans entitled “Bucket Beats” at an in-district concert performed at the High School for our district’s second grade students.
