JUNIOR COLLEGE DAY takes over AMHS!!!

On Tuesday, March 8th, the Amityville Memorial High School Guidance Office hosted Junior College Day for all 11th grade students. The event was developed to help students understand the college admissions and application process. The day started with a presentation for William Clyde, Director of HEOP at CW Post University about the importance of college and what juniors should be doing right now. High School Counselors, Jackie Noon, Andrew Akapnitis, and Stacy Murphy worked with students in small groups to explain what they need to do now to prepare for college, how the application process works and what colleges are looking for from perspective students. Students downloaded and practiced filling out applications and earned prizes for answering college-related questions throughout the day. Students were also reminded of free on-line SAT prep that is available through a partnership with AMHS and Method Test Prep.
