Amityville Supports “Have a Heart for the Homeless”

Over twenty five selfless Amityville Memorial High School students, escorted by our own Mr. McGowan, weathered the ice, wind, and snow to travel to Farmingdale State University for a great cause. They all spent 2.5 hours assisting the homeless individuals by handing out clothes, candles, stickers, and more importantly spending time with these people who are currently struggling. In addition, a candlelight vigil was held to help support our needy fellow human beings.

As the largest high school contingent, our wonderful students and Mr. McGowan were invited to the stage and recognized for their service to the needy.
