Amityville Varsity Girls Soccer Team Honored

After a hard fought season, the Amityville Varsity Girls Soccer Team, led by Team Captains Nimah Kellman and Kelly Siry, was honored with awards recognizing their performance both on and off the field.

On the field, the team was awarded the League 6 Sportsmanship Award given by the Suffolk County Coaches Association and the Suffolk County Small School Sportsmanship Award given each year by the Suffolk County Officials Association.

Off the field, the team was recognized as a New York State Scholar Athlete Team, achieving an overall team GPA higher than 90. This year is the third consecutive year the team has won this prestigious award.

Coaches Chris Roth and John Katsigiorgis are very proud of the hard work their team puts forth on the field and in the classroom, not only during the season, but all year through. The Varsity Girls Soccer Team would like to thank their graduating seniors and wish them all the best in the future: Nimah Kellman, Flor Alvarado, Vanessa Reyes, Maressa Villa and Alexandra Willenbrock.
