Federal Reserve Visit

We proceeded to take the elevators down 80 feet below street level, 30 feet below the subways and were in fact standing on the bedrock of Manhattan island. Once we exited the elevators we had to pass through a 90 ton steel door to enter the gold vault. Imagine being in a room with 80 billion dollars worth of gold.

Once we returned to the main floor students were able to explore the interactive exhibit depicting the history of money. They had coins from Rome, Greece, China and even Confederate money from the Civil War. The experience was great for one and all.
