Amityville Students Continue to Beautify Grounds
Amityville Memorial High School students continue to take pride in their school and are working to complete a number of outdoor beautification projects. The courtyard off the cafeteria has already undergone major renovations, including the addition of benches bearing the Warrior name, picnic tables, landscaping and paver walkways and walls, and a Warrior wall mural painted by students and staff. Thanks to the vision of Principal Dr. Scott Andrews and the support of the Board of Education, administration and Assistant Principal Pete Hutchison, the grounds of the high school have never been more inviting. The latest improvement project involved the work of students in the high school’s ESL program, who worked alongside Dr. Andrews, Mr. Hutchison, their teachers and peers to construct a stone wall to surround a planter bed, a welcome addition, especially come spring when flowers will be in bloom.
