Amityville HS Alumnus Robinson Selected as Athlete of the Week

Amityville Memorial High School Class of 2007 graduate Reggie Robinson, who is now a senior playing football at Hobart College, has been named the school’s Athlete of the Week.

Robinson matched his season-high with a game-high 14 tackles (11 solo), leading Hobart to a 24-10 win at Rochester that clinched the Liberty League Football Championship. He also forced a fumble, one of five takeaways for the Hobart Statesmen defense. Robinson leads the team in tackles with 66, 23 more than the next Hobart player. The Statesmen play at Wesley College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Scott D. Miller Stadium in Dover, Del.

Here are some of Reggie Robinson’s statistics and accomplishments from previous years:

2010: All-Liberty League first team; played in all nine games; led Hobart and finished third in the Liberty League in tackles; second on the team with eight tackles for a loss; recorded at least five tackles in every game, including five games with 10 or more stops; named Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week in consecutive weeks after compiling 18 tackles, four tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, and a 41-yard interception return against Merchant Marine and WPI; and produced a season-high 12 tackles against Rochester.

2009: Started all nine contests; ranked third on the team with 37 stops; made five stops and a pass breakup against Carnegie Mellon; produced four stops, a sack, and a forced fumble at WPI; matched season-high with five tackles, including a sack against Rensselaer.

2008: Played in six games; produced four tackles, including a half tackle for a loss at Carnegie Mellon.

Amityville High School: Four-year varsity letterman; played linebacker and tight end; earned first team All-Long Island honors; also wrestled for the Warriors, finishing second in Section IX.
