About Us

Mission Statement & Goals: The Amityville Union Free School District's "School-Business Partnership" is composed of representatives from the business, government, parental and the educational community. The advisory board will meet five times a year for the following purposes:

  • Provide verbal and written support for educational projects.
  • Provide advice concerning labor market trends, equipment, materials and training methods.
  • Assist in creating new instructional materials.
  • Assist professional staff in updating knowledge and methods.
  • Participate in activities that directly impact students, i.e.: Cooperative Work Experience, School/Business Partnerships, internships, mentors, guest speakers, field trips, world of work tours, and job shadowing.


BENEFITS TO BUSINESS:

  • Advisory board members have direct contact with students through participation in K-12 career fairs, classroom workshops and presentations.
  • Gain community name recognition, reaching students, parents and educators.
  • Enhance your corporate image and corporate citizenship.

Job Shadow Day Committee: Jackie Noon & TBA, Co-Chairs
This committee plans, publicizes, and recruits participants for our annual Job Shadow Day each spring.
 
World of Work Tours Committee: Donna Salerno & Jackie McCullough, Co-Chairs
This committee plans and recruits businesses to participate in our World of Work Tours for middle school and high school students.
 
Career Day/Career Fair Committee: Stacy Merle & Andy Powell, Co-Chairs
This committee organizes, publicizes, and recruits participants for our annual Middle School Career Day and High School Career Fair.

The ASBP meets five times a year at Amityville Memorial High School, Fridays, 7:45 – 9 AM.
