Meghan Brooks Selected for All-State Music Honors

Congratulations to Amityville Memorial High School (AMHS) senior Meghan Brooks, who has been selected to represent the school as a member of the 2011 New York State All-State Symphonic Band. The band will perform during the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Conference, held at the prestigious Eastman Theater in Rochester, NY, from December 1-4. Meghan plays the flute.

Thousands of students auditioned for this honor last spring at NYSSMA solo and ensemble festivals throughout the state. Students are chosen to participate based on their proficiency score achieved at the festival and teacher recommendations.
