AMHS 2005 Graduate Enters Medical School

Melanie Jewel Rudnick of Amityville graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on May 18th 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (A.C.S.). She is Certified Cum Laude with the Chemistry Department and was awarded National Honor Society Awards. She is the recipient of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Grant for medical research at Lehigh, the Alpha A. Diefenderfer/ACS Analytical Award for the highest ranking Junior in Analytical Chemistry at Lehigh, the Presidential Inaugural Scholar Conference in Washington D.C., and the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. She is also a member of the National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars, and a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. Melanie will continue her education at The New York Medical College with the Class of 2013 in Valhalla, New York. She plans on doing her residency in Pediatrics upon receiving her M.D. Melanie graduated Amityville Memorial High School in 2005 and was ranked third in her class.
